Rock Band 4 is Being Delisted Soon

Harmonix has announced that Rock Band 4 will be delisted on October 5. This announcement marks the end of an era for Rock Band 4, the latest entry in a franchise that made its mark on the rhythm game genre, spawning four main series games and several spin-offs.

Released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in October 2015, players will find iconic songs in Rock Band 4, such as “Your Love” by The Outfield and “Carry on My Wayward Son” by Kansas. The fourth title in the series also offers a variety of modes, such as Rivals, in which players team up with friends to test their skills, and Rockudrama, a playable documentary that shows the rise of the player and their band. Rock Band 4 is a solid experience for fans of rhythm games, but those who want to secure their copy of the game should act fast.

Rock Band 4 Will Be Delisted on October 5

Harmonix has announced via the game’s official Discord page that Rock Band 4 will be removed from the PlayStation and Xbox digital stores on October 5. According to the developers, the decision is due to the expiration of licenses for the core soundtrack, which includes songs such as “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes, “I Miss the Misery” by Halestorm, and “Hail to the King” by Avenged Sevenfold. Despite this farewell, the developers reiterate that gamers who already own their copy of Rock Band 4 will keep full access and will be able to download the game and its songs on any compatible device. The same will apply to DLC for Harmonix’s rhythm game, which, once purchased, will remain in the player’s library.

In addition to the 65 songs that make up the core soundtrack of Rock Band 4, the rhythm game’s library has over 3,000 tracks added over the years. Among them are other hits, such as “The Kill” by 30 Seconds to Mars, “Take on Me” by a-ha, and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Rock Band 4 stopped releasing new DLC in 2024, with the last songs added to the game being “Wherever You Will Go” by The Calling, “Thank You” by Dido, and “Send Me on My Way” by Rusted Root.

While this news is disappointing, those who are still interested can purchase the Rock Band 4 Rivals Bundle from the PlayStation and Xbox stores for $9.99. Additionally, rhythm game fans may want to keep an eye on the return of RedOctane, the developer of the original Guitar Hero, which is working on a new game with music as its main feature.
